Tournament Information for Players and Families

Start times vary for each age level:

U15 MOD and FC games will begin at 8:00am

U13 games will begin at 2:00pm

U11 games will run from 8:45am - 3:15pm (Field 6)

This year WPSLA has partnered with two local charities: Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh and Alex’s Lemonade Stand. These organizations serve the community of children that have been diagnosed with childhood cancer and other serious childhood illnesses These foundations have been chosen on behalf of the MS girl lax community in recognition of those athletes in our own community that have battled fiercely to overcome sickness. We support your fight!

US Lacrosse Announces Age-Appropriate Youth Rules

“We can’t emphasize enough how different a 9-year-old is from an 11-year-old, how different an 11-year-old is from a 13-year-old, and so forth,” said Dr. Paige Perriello, a former NCAA Division I player, coach and umpire and current member of the US Lacrosse Sports Science and Safety Committee. “Knowing what youth can do at different levels with gross motor skills and mental capabilities and putting that expertise into practice is important.”

WELCOME TO WPSLAgirls ONLINE!

For over 15 years, the Western PA Scholastic Lacrosse Association has served the needs of female athletes at the high school and middle school level in Western PA and West Virginia. In 2004, WPIAL began sanctioning of high school lacrosse for girls and WPSLAgirls developed into a middle school and youth only organization. We have added many teams over the years and continue to grow.... The fastest growing team sport in the USA!

The purpose of WPSLA is to promote the appreciation and understanding of lacrosse; encourage the growth of girl’s lacrosse; organize and administer safe and fair interscholastic competition; and develop sportsmanship and goodwill among member schools, clubs and association teams.

WPSLA is excited to be providing opportunities for young female athletes. Continued support of our players, coaches and officials is greatly appreciated.

WPSLAgirls participation is mandated under the jurisdiction of USLacrosse level A, and B rules. Exceptions to the current USLacrosse Rule Book can only be made with written permission from the Rules Committee, USLacrosse National Headquarters and submitted to the WPSLA Board of Directors for submission to league members and Officials.
